Importing key file fails while building/deploying

description

Visual Studio 2010 generates the following error messages when rebuilding the solution:
  • Cannot import the following key file: htwchur.pfx. The key file may be password protected. To correct this, try to import the certificate again or manually install the certificate to the Strong Name CSP with the following key container name: VS_KEY_9567F9C929037822 OutlookMailClassifier

now it works in my project, i solved it by installing the certificate manually to the certificate store. By the installation of it, it is possible to unlock it with the correct password. Then it is possible to rebuild the solution. An other way could be to create a new certificate instead of the actual one.

What helped: http://www.slickit.ca/2010/09/fix-cannot-import-following-key-file.html
  1. Select "Sign the assembly"
  2. Click "Change Passwort"
  3. Deselect "Sign the assembly"

A similar error is shown when importing the solution for the first time.
If using the solution for the first time, the key file has to be imported.

When using the project for the first time on a new maschine the certificate has to be installed first.
Use password "htwchur".
